Op Zondag 25 Februari vanaf 10u in de Dutch Club NAQ herdenken wij de Slag in de Java zee.
De ceremony begint om 11u.
De slag, die over 80 jaar geleden begon, verliep desastreus voor de geallieerden, 2.000 marinemensen kwamen om, grotendeels (Indische-)Nederlanders, en de weg lag vrij voor Japan om heel Nederlands-Indië te veroveren.
Gratis toegang; $10 als je blijft voor een lichte lunch.
On Sunday 25 February from 10 am at the Dutch Club NAQ we commemorate the Battle of the Java Sea.
The ceremony starts at 11:00 am.
The battle, which started over 80 years ago, was disastrous for the Allies, 2,000 naval men were killed, mostly (Indonesian) Dutch, and the way was clear for Japan to conquer the whole of the Dutch East Indies.
